Takes one to shoot one

Have you seen the Golf World cover shot of Masters winner Bubba Watson? It's an amazing image shot by longtime Golf World / Golf Digest photographer Dom Furore. It shows Bubba peering at a shot, legs crossed as he follows through, with his club cradled softly in his hands. The cover title - in an even starker white than Bubba's all-white outfit and set against the green of Augusta - was a perfect fit: PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST. I've kept the magazine on my desk for more than a week because, as I wrote Dom, I can't stop looking at it.       

"Thanks," he wrote back. "I'm glad I work with a photo editor  that found it, a designer that used it, and an editor that came up with the artist line." 

Yeah, and I might add, a magazine that's still in business.
